14 - Pre-Concert Talk: Music and Colour
16 July 2014 10:00 am
Lastingham, York, North Yorkshire YO62 6TN, UK
|The composer Deborah Pritchard talks about her new work Seven Halts after the Somme, and the pictures by Hughie O’Donoghue which inspired it. She also discusses music as a response to art and the fascinating condition of synaesthesia, (where two or more of the five senses become joined together, enabling synaesthetic people to feel, taste and hear colours) and her own synaesthetic approach to composition which enables her to respond to colour through music.
